PlexxiPulse – Plexxi offers technical validation for hyperconverged networking

“Pressure is mounting for companies to increase business agility and improve efficiencies by adopting advanced IT models to deliver new applications to both customers and internal departments. Given this reality, we now see many firms turning to hyperconverged technologies for help in moving beyond their traditional legacy IT infrastructure. So how does this sector of the total technology stack play out and what key considerations should we be thinking about?” – Adrian Bridgwater, TechTarget and ComputerWeekly.

Recently I had the opportunity to share my two cents on hyperconverged networking with journalist Adrian Bridgwater. This week my comments appeared in TechTarget and ComputerWeekly. In the pieces I discuss how hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) is on the rise, the resulting need for hyperconverged networks (HCN) and why customers are using HCN technology. The bottom line is: if you have plans to deploy a HCI system, you should seriously consider using HCN.

For more details on HCI, HCN and why people are choosing to make the move, check out the full articles below:

CIO: How Software Defined Storage is Fueling Hyperconvergence
By Peter Fretty
Effective container storage has long been a messy proposition. Considering the rapid build-up and teardown process as developers in particular utilize containers, storage has often been the after thought. Fortunately, as containers continue to gain acceptance, the software-defined storage (SDS) has evolved in step. As such, SDS is now playing a pivotal role in helping address the need for highly flexible, persistent storage required to effectively bring containers from development and quality assurance processes into production.

RCR Wireless News: Seven advantages of SDN
By Nathan Cranford
Software-defined networking (SDN) is a budding technology shaping the telecom industry. The architecture enables network behavior to be centrally controlled through software applications using APIs. Accompanying this capability are a host of benefits. Here is a rundown of the many ways SDN can aid telecom operators. Companies do not have to break their banks in order to use SDN.
